Greek Orthodox religious holidays

It seems like every day there is a religious holiday in Greece!
Because there are so many saints, each one has it's own "name day".

Most Greeks are named after a saint, so on the name day of the particular saint, the person
who is celebrating treats friends and relatives to either sweets, a dinner or drink out, or , as is the usual custom, opens up their home to all who would like to come by and wish "xronia polla!"(years many).
