Things to Know

On Sunday, October 5th, Mr. Thomas Gountis, ballet master and choreographer with schools in Preveza, will be conducting sign up and registration for ballet and dance lessons that will be held in Parga for the winter 2008-2009 period. Registration is open to all ages and will take place at 7p.m. at the gym of Achilleas Tsatsos, located behind the football pitch about 70 meters up from the Enosi supermarket.

The natural gas pipeline in Agia topic was discussed at the town council meeting that was held last Friday, September 12th in Parga. Because this issue was not a main theme of the meeting, a vote was not cast but the issue was discussed at length, with the majority of the councilmen not in favor of this project. This topic will be one of the main themes of the next town hall meeting, however, and an official vote will be cast at that time. We will inform you on these pages when that will take place.

There will be a seminar by the Cultural Antenna of  Preveza on the subject of "People, Art and the Environment". It is basically a team of young artists who express art using recycleable and environment-friendly products.  All, young and old are invited to take part and give their support, it is an event financed by the European Union under the Program " The Younger Generation in Action".

 

It will take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September hours approximately 11.00am-2.00pm.  Beginning in the Town Hall office above "Must" in the harbour.

 

This is an opportunity for each and every one of us to take notice of our environment and how we can help preserve it, PLEASE GIVE THE TIME because these types of programs depend on participation.

After the meeting at the Health Centre on Wednesday it has been confirmed that the program will continue provided there are enough candidates.  There is the possiblilty of a class beginning from the very basics of the Greek language, taught by an English speaking teacher. There must however be at least 18 candidates, so please go to the Town Hall and ask Panorea for application forms a.s.ap.  Also we were assured that there will be a continuance of the Greek lessons on the higher  d level.  Good luck to all, and study hard!!!
